The Steering Committee is preparing an annual budget for our community and has allocated $750 per year for each of the following three groups:
- The Education Committee
- Caring for Creation Mission Group
- We Hear You Voice Mission Group
Each group can spend up to $750 a year to support their mission/goals.
Additionally, the Steering Committee is asking each of the three groups to designate a not-for-profit organization in line with their mission for a $100 per month donation on behalf of the PAX Community. Our hope is to start this giving program this month (June 2021). Although it is intended for the designation to be for one year, each group can change their designee whenever they choose.
The Steering Committee has also approved a $15,000 grant for social justice initiatives. PIN (People In Need) Cushion Fund will receive 10% (or $1,500). In keeping with our community’s shared values, it was decided to earmark 10% for an affordable health care program and another 10% for an affordable housing program.
- $1,500 for Arlington Free Clinic, Arlington VA ( https://www.arlingtonfreeclinic.org/);
- $1,500 for affordable housing (Designee TBD)
- $10,500 to PAX’s Social Needs Disbursement Committee (SNDC)
- $1,500 to the Pathway Homes affordable housing program
SNDC solicits community members for smaller, local organizations deserving of our financial support. Priority is generally given to those with whom our presiders or members have a direct connection. The SNDC will soon let you know how you can nominate groups to be funded.
