Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP)
VIPCC is made up of local congregations and individuals, working at the state level for workers and immigrants, criminal justice reform, healthcare, and many other issues of social justice. Especially active while the legislature is in session, we are informed of actions that are supportive of our goal of the common good, and share them with the community.
Ignation Volunteer Corps
Seeks to serve the needs of the poor, to work for a more just society, and grow deeper in Christian faith by reflecting and praying in the Ignatian tradition. Volunteers are actively involved in about 30 local agencies.
Social Needs Disbursement Committee – Barbara Cabrera Holtz
The Social Needs Disbursement Committee (SNDC) determines monetary contributions to charitable and social outreach groups/activities of special importance to the PAX Community. SNDCfirst considers social outreach activities in which PAXpresiders and/or members are involved, especially small, local groups. Secondaryconsideration is given to other groups whose needs are brought to the Committee’s attention, such sd Virginia Interfaith Center, Women’s Ordination conference, Ignatian volunteer Corp. and elders climate Action.
Race Relations – Patty McGrath
Explores relations between the dominant culture and those who have been and continue to be disadvantaged: Blacks, LGBTQ, Native Americans. Film/discussion series on systemic racism included viewing After Selma, 13th, Hell or High Water.
