Growing in faith requires actively exploring connections between our faith and day-to-day lives while engaged in the world around us. To help us achieve this, PAX offers a variety of educational opportunities for adults.
Our goal is to deepen our faith experience while broadening our understanding of how the Gospel calls us to live faithful lives by acting for the common good. To achieve this we must educate ourselves about issues of faith, justice and peace as we seek to better understand others’ needs and how to address them.
The PAX Education Committee and other community members have sponsored speakers on many topics, including racism, women’s ordination, the Jewish commitment to justice, Creation spirituality, Catholic social justice activism, the dignity of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, and the importance of Mary in our Catholic experience. We have also looked at documentaries and other films together, and then discussed them via Zoom with those who created them. And we have shared information about outside resources, including webinars, websites and opportunities for political and justice activism.
We intentionally move beyond our Catholic roots to understand the interfaith commitment to justice in our world, and how we are called to work together to achieve peace and fairness for all.
Meaningful adult faith formation requires a commitment to addressing the questions and interests of our community members. The PAX Education Committee encourages those within the community to offer suggestions for new education opportunities.
